In math, please continue to work with your students on
multiplication and division facts. Measurement
is another fun topic that you can help your student with. You can help them learn by letting them help
you tell time, find out what the temperature will be for the day, or even
grocery shop and cook!
In science we are learning all about the changes our earth
goes through due to weathering and erosion.
We have learned about different landforms. The students will be making volcanoes at home
and we will be erupting those in class.
We will be learning about tsunamis and tornadoes next!
In 3rd grade reading, we have been working very hard on our
reading strategies. We are getting stronger and stronger with each and every
TEKS objective. We have been focusing on objectives such as inferencing,
reading comprehension, author's purpose, main idea, and summary. Our 3rd graders’
writing skills are pretty awesome! Those 4th grade teachers are going to be so
excited when they see what wonderful writers they are getting next year! The
STAAR test is coming up in just a few weeks. Reading tutoring will be starting
after spring break and we will send letters home about the days and times. We are going to do great
on that test!
