Sixth Grade News

APRIL 2016
General Sixth Grade News

Please replenish school supplies, especially glue sticks, scissors, and map pencils. Teachers do not have class sets of supplies, students are required to have their supplies with them at all times. Often we do cut and paste activities, waiting to borrow supplies from another student slows down the class progress.

Sixth grade is very fortunate to have two student teachers with us for March and April. Mrs. Gomez and Mrs. Salazar are from UTA and this is their second teaching assignment this semester. These ladies are very capable and have already won over the hearts of the students.

Sixth Grade Class T-shirts order form is coming home soon. This keepsake t-shirt will have a design on the front and the student signatures will be on the back. This shirt will be our uniform

Upcoming Sixth Grade Events

April 22_Tie Dye Celebration!

Students will need a white 100% Cotton t-shirt, look in your drawers first before you buy a new one. If you buy a new one, please wash before sending it to school so the color will better soak into the shirt.

Student will need to bring a labeled lunch & drink, dress for physical activity, and wear our Sixth Grade Class T-shirt. Class Photos will be for sale through Knudsen Portfolio Studio, more information to come.

May 10_STAAR Reading Test

May 13_Sixth Grade Dance, 7-9 pm, Cafeteria

If you know of any graduating seniors who attended Hill in 6th grade, please let them know about Hill’s Senior Reunion on May 7 at 3:45 in the Library. This is an opportunity for teachers, faculty, and former students to meet to reminisce and sort through memorabilia collected at the end of their 6th grade year. It’s a guaranteed good time!
